Temps near 70 had it feeling like spring yesterday, so I opened a couple of white Burgs. This was the winner.
2014 Domaine Vincent and Sophie Morey Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot- France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru (2/13/2022)
Drinking really well. Cool and elegant, floral. Medium weight, but a richness to the palate that show a bit sappy with and a tad buttery. Complex and rather long. Decent tension. Acid has softened a bit. Drinking now and drinking well. Hard to go wrong in '14.
Count me as a big fan of this producer. I have a few more bottles of this one in the cellar, so nice to get a reference point for how they’re doing now. Dennis, would you estimate there’s still some good shelf life or would you drink up?
Thanks, Troy. I have not had a lot of the VS Morey 14s, but I’ve had a good bit of 14s. I would say this one, specifically, is to drink up. Also, check out that there are several CT notes before mine of premoxed bottles. My bottle was sound. But ready.
