TN: 2014 Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard

Very good stuff right here.

[*]2014 Domaine Pattes Loup Chablis 1er Cru Beauregard - France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru (5/6/2018)
Terrific young Chablis from Thomas Pico. The aromatics are initially reticent, takes some airing out. The wine feels wound up, but slowly reveals a vibrant energy with citrus fruit, richness on the palate that is buffered by crisp acidity that enlivens everything. Rally pops. A salinity comes forward on the finish that sails on leaving an impression. Excellent young Chablis that I want to see again in 3 years and more.

Couldn’t agree more!

Thomas left some 2015 Butteaux on the lees in tank for over two years which I think he has bottled now, that’s a fun wine to track down.

Had the 2012 version of this wine last night. It was splendid as well. In fact, other than nothing being reticent upon opening, it fit the above description nicely. The 2012 was reading to roll out the gate.

Good to know. This is a new house to me. Honestly, David Beuker’s recent notes sent me searching for some. Really compelling stuff.
