TN: 2014 Davenport Cellars Mr. B (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley)

If a winery marks down a close-out wine, for whatever reason, it’s because they really want you to buy it. T.o boycott such a sale is the exact opposite of what they want you to do. Buy with confidence.

The original post was from 2020. Yes they were not closing due to Covid or any other reason other than retiring. We moved a ton of their wines on Berserkers and anyone who got Mr. B got a $50 plus wine for $11. I hope they make more wine in the future because they really know what they are doing!

Day 4: To say this wine has plenty of life left would be an understatement. Menthol, cherry, blueberries, minerals and dark chocolate. This is another stellar effort. 93 points (93 points)

NO hurry on drinking these up! Should have bought 5 more cases!

This wine is off the charts but did regress on day 2 so pop and pour and enjoy!

The iconic wine at $10 is stunning tonight. Not many better deals in the last 10 years and would argue none. Tastes like a $100 plus Napa (Great Producer) Cabernet. Blueberries, Bing cherries, menthol, spice, black licorice and gravel. Medium to long finish. Rockstar!
Day 2: Liked this better on day one. More menthol on day 2 and while the fruits are still present not as integrated wine on day 2. Medium plus finish. 90 points
Recommendation: I think this will have a nice drinking window from now until 2028. (94 points)
