2013 Scherrer Winery Cabernet Sauvignon Scherrer Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley (8/26/2023)
Popped and poured at cellar temp. Still very dark purple color with just a hint of lightening at the rim. Intoxicating nose of blackberry, violets, eucalyptus, dusty earth and just a hint of coffee. Very vibrant on the palate, with similar blackberry and dusty earth with very pronounced balancing acidity and still some pronounced fine tannins on the finish. This is still quite young and I am going to throw it in a decanter. Early days of the drinking window but I think this will be fabulous with the steak tips I will be grilling tonight.
