2013 Peay Vineyards Viognier Estate - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (8/30/2015)
Not particularly expressive on the nose, not showing the quintessential Viognier perfume, but the palate more than makes up for that with deeply flavored fruit, and unusually high acidity for Viognier, the combination being almost painfully intense, with a sense of lime phosphate on the finish. I will give my remaining bottles at least a year or two before trying another, to see if they meld and mellow a bit with age. (90 pts.)
