TN: 2013 Damiano Ciolli Silene Cesanese

First had this at SPQR in SF and found it an engaging easy to drink wine. Picked up a couple bottles and the one yesterday mimicked the one at SPQR. The nose is very effusive, fruity, flowers, herbs, very distinctive. Flavors mostly follow the nose, bing cherry, raspberry essence, some herbal pine like note. Tastes like a perfect cross of pinot noir and beaujolais which is a good thing. Slight feral note adds to the complexity. Good acidity and balance, ultimately the right combination of aroma, flavor and balance is what all wine aspires to. The 2013 Damilano Ciolli hit the mark at a very modest price. Very food friendly wine.
