(Benvenuto Brunello, 2018, Montalcino) Last tasted from cask, this wine has greatly exceeded my prior expectations, and they were already good. Luminous brick red, orange rim. On the nose, orange peel, soil, sweet red fruits, light spice; the aromas are simply lovely. THe medium-bodied palate offers a cool, elegant entry, it’s graceful, with a weight and texture that deftly conceal the power and structure within. My notes say “Long” about four times, so there you have it. A great success. 14,0% abv., drink 2020-2044. highly recommended
