Timely note with John Paul’s post earlier today. Drunk two nights ago.

Pop and pour, Drunk over three hours.

A ripe mature nose with orchard more than citrus fruit, persimmon, lactic notes a little nuttiness and sense of stoniness. Mid plus weighted, texturally rich and toothsome on the palate. It's broad and structured, yet remains finely detailed with a nice mineral backbone and while the acid is not prominent, it is deftly balanced and more than sufficient to carry the body of the wine. There's more of the same orchard fruit, lemon curd, some subtle nuts and spring herbs on the back end. Terrific length. It kept growing over the evening. At first, i thought it fully mature, but its evolution over the evening makes me wonder. Pretty terrific now, and I can't think of good reason to wait. Outstanding .

FWIW, a terrific pairing with a grilled ham and cheese sandwich with cornichons. (93 points)
