  • 2013 Broc Cellars Vine Starr Red - USA, California (1/17/2016)
    Tartaric crystals on the cork and precipitated at the bottom. Menthol and seductive black fruit on the nose. Aspartame sweetness on the palate that became more incorporated with time. (from stem inclusion?) Very gentle tannins lead to a bright and almost glycerin finish, which to me is the highlight.

I was hesitant of a 12.5%ABV zinfandel, however this won my wife and I over very quickly. Eye opening wine.
