TN: 2012 Tenuta di Sesta Rosso di Montalcino

  • 2012 Tenuta di Sesta Rosso di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino (5/15/2015)
Another one of those rare wines where you ask yourself "how do they get a wine this good all of the way from Italy, through the distribution system and to me for just $16??? This drinks more like Brunello than lowly Rosso. The $16 price was even cheap by RdM standards. Might have been a direct import for K&L? Loved it tonight with homemade pizza. Traditionally styled with classic earthy, red fruit, mushroom, spicy Sangiovese. Just bought one to fill a shipping carton and wish I had gotten more. Recently a buddy of mine ask if he should buy some Casanova Di Neri RdM for around $28. I told him to grab some of these instead, I don’t think he took my advice. Too bad. Alc 14% but everything is in balance. I’d own three more if K&L still had them. (92 pts.)
