Note to those of you waiting for your Berserker Day purchases. Don’t be in a hurry. I bought this bottle 9yrs ago and it’s still not done evolving Eric is habitually slow in getting wines out but in the end it really doesn’t matter because they need time anyhow.
- 2012 Ladd Cellars Pinot Noir Anderson Valley - USA, California, North Coast, Anderson Valley (6/6/2025)
Been open for two hours now and it’s beginning to blossom. Pours a cranberry red with no bricking. Nose is showing rose petals, cinnamon and Dr Pepper. Palate is pretty broad with tart black cherry, blood orange and strawberry. Viscous texture and ample spice follow with that dark red fruit on an expansive finish. This would be a crowd pleaser had I opened it for anyone other than myself. Oh well, their loss. Showing no signs of degradation, this still has many years left in it. Have never had a Ladd wine that’s been OTH and at 13 this Pinot is still killing it. Nice job Eric.
