TN: 2012 Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly

My oldest turned 5 today, and time is flying. A 2012 to drink and smile about the last five years.

  • 2012 Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin 1er Cru En Remilly - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Saint-Aubin 1er Cru (3/8/2017)
Ripe orchard fruit, lemon curd, oyster shells and a pile of limestone on the nose. Dense yet with great tension and cut, almost toothsome in its density, yet still very fresh. It cuts a broad swath with orchard fruit, limestone, oyster shells, and some fennel/ anise seed yet it has the tension to keep everything detailed and crisp. This carries its frame with finesse. Power and balance, richness and precision, fruit and soil. A wine of contrasts that come together into a harmonious whole. Approachable now and I wish I did into fear it would succumb to P-mox or I would reload it. (92 pts.)

Thanks for reading

I love this producer/bottling. Congratulations on those five years and many more to come.

Love the 13’ of this. Good to hear the 12’ is showing well, I’ve also got a kiddo born that year.
