2012 Domaine Roulot Meursault Les Luchets - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault (7/23/2018)
Roulot always does the trick for me with chardonnay. Probably one of the best chardonnay makers today. The nose shows a touch of sweet apples and other ripe fruit, as well as a lovely flinty minerality, and a touch of stinky sulphur that blows off with extended swirling. The palate is nicely rounded, with a nice tart apple quality. Tons of mouthwatering acidity on the back end, which is nicely bolstered by a bit of chalk. Not the densest or complex chardonnay, but everything else here is just what it should be. (93 pts.)
