TN: 2012 Cambria Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard

  • 2012 Cambria Pinot Noir Julia’s Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley (12/6/2014)
Color is dark garnet with purple tinges. Nose of fresh cur flowers, sarsaparilla and black cherries and raspberries. Palate reveals a nicely balanced Pinot with some juiciness and style, albeit a bit on the simple side. Red cherries and red raspberries run the show with slight hints of cool cola. Mouthfeel is full and well evolved while tannins seem tame while acidity rides perfectly. Finish decent. A very good effort and certifiable QPR. $17 Would make a great house wine at this price.(89 pts.)

This is a very popular restaurant wine here in SoCal. I liked the '07 and want to try the '11 if I can find it.

Always a solid QPR.

My wife bought a case of this at a school auction for something like $10, it was the 09’ version and really surprised me. Decent stuff and not overly done.

Been a house wine for awhile. We buy it in half bottles when we can. Hard to beat.

Randy, for a few bucks more, $20 gets you the Laetitia Winery Estate PN. Blows the Cambria away.
