TN: 2012 Belle Pente Belle Pente Vineyard Chardonnay

Purchased at the winery last year. The color was golden yellow, slightly darker than I’d expect.

On the nose I get tropical fruits and lemon, some minerality, and faint matchstick. This is a riper Chard than I’d expect from Belle Pente with medium to full-bodied weight. It isn’t incredibly complex, and has strong acidity that overpowers the fruit on the finish. The fruit is somewhat dull which I wouldn’t expect for a 2012. This is good but not on the level of the best Oregon Chardonnay producers like Goodfellow, Vincent, and Walter Scott.
