2011 Sojourn Pinot Noir Silver Eagle Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (2/26/2013)
Tasted this at a Sonoma Coast tasting at City Winery in NYC last night. I was helping Craig pour. Craig introduced 2 new fall 2013 vineyards. The Campbell was one, and the Silver Eagle was the other. This vineyard comes from the Occidental area. My notes are from Day 2, as I couldn’t take notes on Day 1. This is an impressive pinot for $59. Really smooth. Full bodied with some spice. Somewhat dark and glassy. Some cherry background. Enjoyable now. Release date for mailing list is September 2013. People were evenly split between the Campbell and Silver Eagle. My favorite was the Silver Eagle. (92 pts.)
