TN: 2011 Rochioli - Sauvignon Blanc Old Vines (USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley)

2011 J. Rochioli Sauvignon Blanc Old Vines - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (7/16/2018)
– popped and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 3 hours –

NOSE: medium- to medium expressiveness; cat pee; very light tropical fruit aromas & mineral; hint of rye bread.

BODY: medium pale green-yellow color; medium-light bodied

TASTE: high acidity; light mineral; a little tropical; 14.5% alc. stands-out a bit; lightly zesty; considering the alc. presence, I don’t see this improving from here on out. Drink now.

50, 5, 12, 16, 7 = (90 pts.)

Tasted over 3 years? Coravin samples? Compilation of multiple bottles?

In general I like the Old Vines SB, and am sitting on a few older bottles to see if it ages well.

LOL! Whooops!! That should have been hours. Will fix. Thank you! [cheers.gif]

Great note!

I love that wine.

I wish we lived closer, it would be fun to compare bottle variation!

I think I like it a tad more than you do, but mostly agree!

I still have some of the '12 and '13 in the cellar: will probably aim to pull those corks sooner rather than later.
