TN: 2011 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay B. Thieriot Vineyard

  • 2011 Rivers-Marie Chardonnay B. Thieriot Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast (7/31/2018)
Found an orphan in my wine fridge Sunday, opened with steamed lobsters. Lemon, almond butter and a slight oxidized note on the nose. The palate shows no sign of the oxidized note and is moderately viscous with lemon curd, ripe stone fruits, and a nutty finish with just enough acidity to balance the richness.

Majorly love these wines, but they are best after only 2 or 3 years. They are not for serious aging.

Just opened this tonight. Golden color. Oxidative notes on the nose and palate.

Love R-M Pinots but find the Theriot Chardonnay hit and miss. Like Charles Heintz this vineyard seems to have a bit of characteristic botrytis which I don’t seek in my chardonnay.

Just had the 17…and it was amazing! I have a hard time keeping my hands off them young…so no experience here with aging.
