This wine was a success on a couple levels. It paired well with the turkey and, my son in law actually noticed it was better than the wine they usually drink. Most thanksgivings my Cru Beaujolais and higher end Burgs goes relatively unnoticed. The abundant fruit and power in this wine caught Josh’s attention. I handed over a couple 2010 Pride Cabernets, we bought together, to them afterwards so you can see how this classic Zin blend fit thier palates. I decanted it for 3 hours and poured back into the btl but there was still a bit of oakiness for my liking. But, overall this showed lovely balance, fruit, depth and vibrance. I’d love to try this in a few years to see where it goes. I think the blend and old vines makes this an interesting wine. Not a streal at $38 but worth it. Delicious and definitely decant as it has its share of oak upon opening. (90 pts.)
