2011 Domaine Nicolas Brunet Vouvray Cuvée Rafael - France, Loire Valley, Touraine, Vouvray (3/25/2022)
Very small production wine only produced in select vintages.
Medium gold color. Nose of pineapple. Youthful palate of pineapple and stone fruit, with a solid acid backbone that makes the wine “off-dry” instead of “sweet”.
This would be a perfect wine with seared foie gras, or spicy dishes. It paired very well with Jan’s clam chowder containing my house-cured bacon. (92 pts.)
