2011 Acacia Pinot Noir - USA, California (3/13/2013)
PnP, medium crimson color. Enticing mature Burg aromas of forest floor and spice. Bright red fruit, spice and minerally palate. In a word, “Burgundian” in everyway. I think the normal tariff is around $15. I paid $12 and would gladly do it again. I’m sure they make a ton of this so the question is; will the next btl be as good as this was? I plan to buy more and find out. Alc 13.5% (91 pts.)

surprised. Had a glass of the 2010 last night and it was hot, over-ripe and out of balance.
The higher end Acacias have fallen into the ‘guilty pleasure’ realm for me at times…even one of the AFWE can enjoy the ripe plushness of these wines at times.
The 2010 was very decent about a year ago. A nice QPR pick-up. Recently opened one to find it has fallen off a cliff. So, my advice is to drink these soon after release.
I’m sure this wine can be a crap shoot with its bulk production and broad California appellation but the blt last night was sublime.
