TN: 2010 Sleight of Hand Syrah Levitation (USA, Washington, Columbia Valley)

  • 2010 Sleight of Hand Syrah Levitation - USA, Washington, Columbia Valley (12/20/2018)
Day 1: Wonderful roasted meats, pepper, floral, spices and dust. Very Rhone like. Good acidity and medium plus finish. Still young with a long life ahead. 92 points
Day 2: A bit more integrated. Roasted meats, white pepper, subtle spices, red currants and tar. Medium plus finish and balanced. Not a fruit bomb at all. Love this style of Syrah from Washington. Excellent and better than day 1. 93 points
Day 3: Still has similar qualities but a bit of a decline in the fruit profile. More sour cherry. Not nearly as good as day 2. 87 points
Recommendation: If you have one bottle drink 2020. If you have several try them over the course of 3 to 4 years. I don’t see this wine going for another 5 plus. (93 pts.)
