TN 2010 Domaine Denis Bachelet Bourgogne

2/28/16 Opened about 2 hours prior to first glass. This is really an outstanding bourgogne and really exemplifies all that I like about the 2010 vintage; purity of fruit, power without weight, and above average minerality, particularly for this classification. Bachelet’s wines have continued to improve over the last 10 years and in my mind he is an underrated producer. Although his wines have crept up in price there are still decent prices to be found particularly on the lower end of the spectrum. This wine drinks like a village wine and his Cote du Nuits villages gets close to premier cru level in my mind. There would be no harm in aging the bourgogne for another 5 to 10 years but it is drinking very well now with a few hours of air.

Sounds like my kind of drink, Cory, thanks for posting. Have loved the little of Bachelet I’ve tried, almost impossible to find it up here, but glad to know the Bourgogne reflects the vintage which I’m enamoured of as well.

Had a bottle of the 05 Vielles Vignes not to long ago. Delicious crunchy red fruit with some licorice thrown in. Beautiful village wine.
