TN: 2010 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino

  • 2010 Conti Costanti Brunello di Montalcino - Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino (1/14/2023)
This was a very nice bottle with dinner. Cherries, currants, savory herbal notes. Acidity keeps it energetic and fine tannins keep the texture grippy.
Sangiovese-based wines lost their luster for me several years ago, but a nice older Rancia and this bottle might start drawing me back.

I still think Sangiovese-based wines are still a minefield, but Conti Costanti, for me, had been very consistent with all solid wines that I had starting from 80s to, my most recent taste at the winery early this week, the 2018 which was elegant, high acidity and savory.
