This wine is in a very good place. A little jammy at first, but calmed down quickly in the glass. Dark Currants predominate, with some pepper and a hint of tobacco. (93 pts.)

Nice. Surprised this is drinking this well so soon.

I think Hayne is a special case. What I find so remarkable about Hayne (Pets and Zin) is it’s tannin and textural quality. The talc like, earthy tannin is just beautiful, and IMHO, what makes these wines so great. I actually find these better on the young side, before these beautiful tannins have had a chance to ‘resolve’ and fall out.

I was too… It got better in the decanter and glass, but overall it was quite nice from first pop…

Sounds delicious. Good post.

I have 3 of these in the original shipping box from Turley and their storage has been only OK so will be drinking now. Thanks for the heads up [cheers.gif]
