TN: 2009 Fontodi Chianti Classico (Italy, Tuscany, Chianti, Chianti Classico DOCG)

cork is perfect. no signs of bricking. a dark purple with cherry skin tones. small amount of fine sediment. Decanted in glass for 2 hours before. on point sangiovese nose. Funky earth. Taste profile matches the nose. the funky earth is like rhone Garrigue, but Tuscan version. Paired with 6 day old spaghetti and lots of aged Parmesan. Very tasty. (89 pts.)

6 day old spaghetti? Was there some green tinting to it?

Not that I noticed and no barfing either, but it was on the cusp of the end of the eating window. I keep my food fridge on the cooler side to prolong the aging.

I personally like my spaghetti with a little bit more age on it. really brings out the mushroom/fungal notes.

I had this (the wine, not the aged noodles) last night. It was quite nice, and remains full of life.
