TN: 2008 Raveneau Chablis 'Chapelot'

Words can’t explain the out and out purity of citrus and iodine in this wine so in my own words, in brackets following, I have tried to describe it ( ). There also a nice big whiff of aniseed. It is linear, razor sharp and you can feel every bit of rocky detail. I just love the way the wine makes one’s tongue involuntarily click against the roof of one’s mouth and the whole package is engaging, brilliant young Chablis.
Cheers

Jeremy,

This wine was by far the crowd favourite at the Raveneau 2008 tasting I organized earlier this year. Mild exoticism, pronounced yet well-buffered acidity and gorgeous texture made it stand out against the stern minerality and searing acidities of the other 2008’s. Glad to see you liked it too!
