TN: 2008 Phelps Creek Vineyards Pinot Noir Fleur de Roy Rosé of Pinot Noir

Shitty day today, so I knew I needed to probably take down a bottle by myself. I’m a little ‘redded’ out with all the Falltacular events, so I went to the whites fridge, and pulled this out - my last bottle of three, and the best of the three. I know I chose wisely - this bottle will go down!

Contrary to what one might think, this wine gained in complexity and fruit structure over the last few months. Normally one is told to consume Rose as fast as you get it - if you don’t finish every bottle of it by the time you get from your garage door to the kitchen, it’s too late! The nose is still not terribly vibrant, but it is fresh - white flowers, strawberries, very clean. On the palate is where you notice it picked up a good amount of depth to the sweet red fruits and citrus, and even a little mouthfeel, while maintaining the acidity that makes this a very enjoyable Rose. Finishes clean and crisp, with a slight edge because of the acidity - fantastic with food, and without. (91 pts.)

Indeed it is…wish I had waited on my other two bottles until now

Nice folks at PC, the winery is about 20 miles from my house.
