Grenache, Syrah and Carignane. If tasted blind, much more like a wine from Priorat than Languedoc. Black core with purple edges. The nose smells simultaneously like raspberry and mincemeat pie. A sweet perfumed aroma lingers about. Full bodied and the descriptors which come to mind are savory, brooding and wild. Black fruit with a date/fig edge. Mouth coating with some seriously spicy components. Amazing with a beef stew with a mixture of Dijon and spicy mustard in the broth. Seemingly heavy on fruit and gamey/savory components in from of any real structure, but an enjoyable and unique wine.

This sounds really good, Anthony. I have an '07 that I’ve yet to get into, and now I’m actually looking forward to it. Thank you for posting. [cheers.gif]
