TN: 2008 Georges Dubœuf Juliénas La Trinquée

  • 2008 Georges Dubœuf Juliénas La Trinquée - France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Juliénas (2/20/2011)
Slow ox’d two hours before serving. Much darker than many Beaujolais wines. Dark garnet. Red fruited nose with some plantain notes- a hint of mint as well. Tart cherries attack the mid palate and the wine has some nice acidic structure to keep things refreshing. Some herbal notes interact with the soft tannins on the medium finish.

This drinks much more like a Gamay from Cheverny in the Loire than a typical Cru Bojo. Very nice pairing with prosciutto wrapped pear and mint viniagrette. (87 pts.)
