2008 Dönnhoff Niederhäuser Hermannshöhle Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Nahe (7/14/2025)
Popped and poured at slightly cooler than cellar temp. Lovely golden color. Hints of petrol and tropical fruit on the nose - papaya, pineapple and a bit of coconut. Palate has a lovely balance of sweet tropical fruit and nuttiness with plenty of balancing acidity. Very good wine, but I have the feeling this wine is still a bit reticent and might have another gear with some bottle age. Will see if there is some development with time open tonight.
