2008 Domaine Brusset Gigondas Tradition Le Grand Montmirail - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Gigondas (5/10/2011)
Dark garnet. Restrained, but appealing nose showing perfumed floral notes, red fruit and black pepper. The palate is also restrained and quite structured at this point. Notes of raspeberry and blackberry poke through some hints of herbs as well. The structure is the lead in this production right now. High acidity and enamel ripping tannins don’t offer much pleasure right now especially without air or food. I do believe this will be quite nice after some bottle age.
