TN: 2008 Château La Fleur-Pétrus (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol)

  • 2008 Château La Fleur-Pétrus - France, Bordeaux, Libournais, Pomerol (2/25/2012)
Sensational wine. Decanted for 9+ hours. Deep, dark blackberry, cherry and plum fruit with espresso, spice, and dark chocolate. There is a eucalyptus and spice note on the nose that is pronounced. Despite the massive fruit, the acidity is balancing this wine perfectly, and the finish is tremendous. Elegance personified. This one will be a wine to adore in 20 years or so. Looking forward to it.

Thanks for the note, I have a few of these. Looks like it will be the last vintage I’ll ever be willing to pay for… Pricing has gone freaking insane on this and Trotanoy.

Also just wanted to comment that this is my favorite Bordeaux wine label. Such a sweet, old school design. Elegant.
