- 2008 Château d'Issan - France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Margaux (2/2/2025)
Kind of a classic D’Issan and why I own more of this than almost any other Bordeaux. Very solid (not great), but a wonderful wine on a Sunday night with a steak and Brussel sprouts. A bit reticent on the nose and palate when I first poured. After a 2 hour decant, opened up quite a bit. Some cedar on the nose and on the palate, but still fairly primary with darker fruits and tannins. This definitely could have benefited from a few more years, but with a decant of an hour or two, it’s definitely in a good place.
