TN: 2008 Champagne Moutard: Cuvée de 6 Cepages

A rare brut vintage champagne using all six permissible varieties in champagne: Arbanne, Petit Meslier, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Light gold, the nose gives me light cited and a hint of brioche. The mouthfeel is slightly sweet, with lots of subtle flavours supporting each other. More complex than powerful, this pares well with the salmon canapés.

I know this cuvée from 2005 and 2004 - very interesting, although slightly broader and less vital than the regular millesime brut.

BTW: there is one more variety permitted: Pinot Gris (also called Fromenteau), however also very rarely used …
