TN: 2007 Philipponnat Champagne Cuvée 1522 (France, Champagne)

  • 2007 Philipponnat Champagne Cuvée 1522 - France, Champagne (12/10/2017)
Medium expressive nose displaying subtle ripe yellow and subtle red fruit, apple, apple tart, cherry soda, red currant, sweet spices, almond paste and limestone. Already showing nicely integrated palate, subtle red fruit and sweet spices driven palate impression, very fine generous mousse, good acidity, strong mineral and a medium to long subtle red fruit driven finish. The nose is delicious rather than complex but the palate is airy and polished. This is closer to Rose for my palate. Drinking deliciously. (92 pts.)

I love this Cuvée. If you haven’t already, you should try the Rosé versions. The '02 and '06 vintages I bought were fabulous.

Cheers,
