2007 Paraiso Vineyards Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Lucia Highlands (7/13/2009)
Another fantastic QPR from this vintage. The pop and pour was perfect, earthy nose with some strawberries and currants. Really nice persistent soft strawberry flavors with red and dark fruits. Love the weightly, glycerin-like mouth coating texture. Plenty of acidity that keeps things lively and refreshing. While not as complex as the '07 La Crema SC I opened up recently, this is still fun to drink and hits the spot on a warm summer night. One to buy by the case for easy but enjoyable drinking over the next year or so. (90 pts.)

How much did you find this for, Tim?
Nice note, Tim. I had wondered about this wine. Seen it around and thought, noooo … but 2007? Magic things can happen.
Just picked my half case up (also $19/btl) and popped and poured. Really fabulous nose, goes down easy. You’re spot on, those fruit flavors are soft as you describe with a nice tart finish. Definite buy.
We had the wine as an e-mail offer a couple weeks ago. I grabbed a case at $17.42 a bottle after my employee discount.
Great juice for the price.

I have been pretty happy with the Monterey bottling from this label. Nice balance, not too much oak and some pure varietal characters- a little sweet for my tastes, but pretty damn good for the price.
After drinking it over the evening, my note from CT:
The nose jumps out immediately. I like the smoky descriptor on the back label. Nice fruit and good finish. As it opens there is some candied cherry but not too much. Quite spicy with some oak, pretty full. Quite delicious, “pretty” comes to mind but ultimately a bit simple. recommended. 89
I agree on the “bit simple” part. Definately just a nice easy drinker.
for a little more umph in this price range, I really liked the '07 La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot, which I just saw at Costco.
