TN: 2007 mica Buccella Cabernet Sauvignon (USA, California,

2007 Buccella Cabernet Sauvignon mica - USA, California, Napa Valley (8/16/2010)
Pop and pour to see how it develops. Right out of the gate this one is drinking pretty darn good. Deep dark fruit with a heavy leather nose. Gripping tannins that smooth out after an hour or so. Lingering vanilla on a full bodied mouth feel. Long, long finish. This one is calling out for some red meat which is right up my alley. Not a big Cabernet guy but with wine like this I can change real quick like.

Really enjoyed the '06. Need to try the '07.

I have one lone bottle of this, what would you assign as a drinking window?

It can go right now with some air but probably not much more than 2015. It’s a new Napa cab made to drink.
ACME Fine Wines has it in stock if you like it.

Thanks for the note Brian - great to hear the wine is performing up to expectations. I’ve been wanting to buy a few bottles of the 07 Buccella Cab . . . anyone taste the 07 Buccella Merlot? Heard it’s pretty darn good too . . .

I thought the 06 Mica was STELLAR right out of the gate. Deep and dark, full of both flavor concentration and structure. I had the 06 and IMMEDIATELY put a word to my local wine shop to keep an EAR to the ground for the 07. INCREDIBLE WINE for sure. I completely agree about the MEATY wine. Some of these style are too big and not enough tannin for food…this is DEF a HUGE steak wine

Totally agree on the 06. I could not keep my hands off of it. Down to 1 bottle. I went to load up and the LWS owner bought the remaining case. Oh well. Waiting for the 07 as I am hoping it will be darn similar!!!

Is this a buy at $52 a bottle?

I think it is closer to $70 in my market, and an EASY yes, it’s a buy at both prices, thought better at yours

Cool. I really enjoyed the '07 Buccella, but my days of $100 wines is dwindling quickly. I can swallow (pun intended) $50 juice quite a bit better.

Thanks, I bought this at ACME in ST Helena and it will be sent in the Fall. Appreciate the note.

To the OP:

maybe you can rename this post.

TN: 2007 Mica by Buccella Cabernet Sauvignon(USA, California, etc)

Just a thought about when once searches in the future. Mica should be first and foremost.
I’m just sayin’.

Bill, where are you seeing this in our market? If it is anything like the 06, it will be great. The 06 was one of my favorite drinking Cabs of the entire vintage. I do not think released yet.

Confidential e-mail offer at $52 a bottle.

Gotta agree with Mike. I read through this thread quickly and was shocked at the prices people were quoting - thinking that it was the Buccella. I was getting ready to be upset and order more, but then saw the mica.

Chris

That’s a good price, it’s usually around $60-$64. Damned distributor better start coughing some up.

Even though it trails back to CT that way, it could be changed.
It apears anyone with a keyboard and some electricity can enter new wines on CT, and it’s proven every day…

ITS A JOKE! [cheers.gif]

I had the 2007 Buccella Cab a few months back and after about an hour decant it was drinking really well. It has been my favorite Cab from 2007 by far that I have had to date. I just wish it wasn’t so expensive. I will have to look into the Mica which until now I did not know existed. Thanks for the heads up!

The 2007 Buccella Cab is a huge excellent drinking Cabernet! Drank a bottle over a long evening (4+ hours), very powerful, thick, rich and well balanced. Never tasted the Mica? The bottle is pretty unique . . .

I sell it in Dallas for sixty five. At least I’m not too far off point on this. I do love it though…Great Juice…
