TN: 2007 Le Clos du Caillou Cotes du Rhone Vieilles Vignes

Terrific CdR, loads of dark red fruits, lush without showing overly ripe at all, some nice complexities and excellent balance. Of several very good 07s I’ve had so far, this is as good or better than most.

Cheers,
Alan

Thanks Alan. I have purchased a bunch of them. This is one I have not seen yet. Where did you buy it??

Cheers, Jack

This is the absolute reason that I prefer Clos du Caillou to basically all otherwise excellent and lauded southern Rhone producers.

Thanks for the note Alan and good to see you here. I’ve been recommended this previously but have yet to try it. Need to rectify that.

Thank you for the note. I loved the 05 and have been eagerly awaiting this one to arrive.

Beltramos, think it was $17

I got a case of .375’s from North Berkeley and have been very happy with the few that I’ve opened thus far. Very solid QPR.

I fondly remember the 1995 version of this wine. Of course, it was about $10 if memory serves. Thank you, Alan Greenspan.
