2007 Domaine Rimbert Saint-Chinian Les Travers de Marceau - France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Saint-Chinian (3/31/2009)
It’s nice when a 14 dollar wine delivers the goods. Give this about a half hour in the decanter and it reveals a pleasing nose of spicy, ripe red fruits, herbs, and soil tones. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with bright acidity & ripe, firm tannins. Lacks some depth on the palate and finishes a tad tart but manages to stay interesting. Good QPR and a wine I’d be happy to drink with bistro-type food. (87+ pts.)
