2007 Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-du-Pape La Crau - France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (12/22/2009)
JUst picked up a half bottle today, opened it up at 5:30pm and tasted, Decent wine seemed a little short but definitely had some berry like qualities on the nose. After an hour in the glass, the fruit started to emerge along with some oak. After two hours the oak seemed to have left the glass and now there was spicy, cigar like, and fruity flavors giving rise to a near 45 second finish. A great wine after three hours or so.

I like this wine. A solid 92-93 pointer.
Agreed, although some are saying that it shuts down after 4 hours or so. Not sure
Would you have thought the wine was Vieux Telegraphe had you been served the wine blind?
When I tasted it, the first time, the group I was with was pretty much in agreement that we really liked to wine, but blind we would have never guessed Vieux Telegraphe. It was far more fruit forward than I remember young VT being in the past, but I guess that’s to be expected with 2007.
I would not have known, but then again I do not drink enough CdP. I do enjoy them now and again.
