TN: 2007 Domaine Bruno Clavelier Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes

2007 Domaine Bruno Clavelier Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Les Beaux Monts Vieilles Vignes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru (4/12/2013)
On the nose is red fruit, strawberry jam, hint of leather, and a bit of spice. The palate is balanced with sweet fruit, tannins, minerality, and acidity. Not as tart as the Aux Brulees and seems to have more weight. Becomes more shy and closed with air. Plan on letting the other one rest a bit.

In my experience this is the wine which usually needs the longest to mature chez Clavelier, including the NSG Cras. I had it last about a year ago and it needed several hours in a carafe to show much of anything, whereas a handful of other 2007’s were much more approachable. I should have loaded up on those villages!

I know. The 2010 was very reserved. This was surprisingly approachable but obviously will be better with some time.
