2007 Château de Pibarnon Bandol - France, Provence, Bandol (10/23/2014)
Second half bottle of this wine in the last several months, and not much has changed. It’s deep, dark and characteristic of Mourvedre with black fruit, meat and earthy tones. The tannins are mostly buried under a riot of fruit. This will reward patience, though it is quite pleasant to drink now.

I always think 10 to 15 years on these. What are your thoughts?
I have tried a number of 2007 Bandol, and they are more open than a lot of years.
That being said, I see no reason that they will not develop and improve over the medium term. I’m just plowing through some half bottles. My full bottles of 2007 Bandol are buried.
I recently had the 1998 Pibarnon and it is finally starting to soften.
