TN: 2007 Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

  • 2007 Cantina Zaccagnini Montepulciano d’Abruzzo - Italy, Abruzzi, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo (12/21/2010)
This is a fun little Italian…dark berry fruit, tangy cranberry/orange acidity, crushed volcanic rock, good florals/cinnamon spice, tar. Nice dry tannin to accompany the sweet simple fruit, little short abrupt finish…but really tasty with Italian fare. For $10…SUPER Italian sipper alert!!! (90 pts.)

Yep, every year without fail this is a really good value.

Never had it…saw Suckling’s video on it…“I’m 90pts on this”…and on sale at the local Costplus for $10…lasagna…perfect!

I think I’ve had it every year since 99…IIRC. Very consistent.

Sadat X turned me on to this wine - and not because of the FUF.
Cause it’s smoove and goes well with salt and vinegar potato chips.
I think it was episode 5 of Season 1. First video of his I saw (other than the Brand Nubians).

Pretty good juice too.

yep. very good QPR on this one.

X always forgets to pour out a little wine onto the ground first “for the brothers who aren’t here”. Otherwise as a wine critic, he is the bomb. dc.

had this last night with dinner

great QPR indeed
