2007 Cabot Vineyards Syrah Humboldt County - USA, California, North Coast, Humboldt County (1/31/2013)
Needs a little air to shed some initial strong acidity, but then this shows dark, brooding black boysenberry fruit, excellent balance of acidity and medium fine tannins, a really nice showing. Great food wine, this is going nicely with smoked pork shoulder.
This keeps getting better through the evening, showing more intensity and complexity, some high toned blueberry kicking in. Great stuff and fantastic QPR (92 pts.)
