TN: 2007 Auteur Pinot Noir Manchester Ridge

I remember reading a note by Doug Wilder several years ago on the old eBob where he tasted this wine over 5-6 nights. His comments were the wine kept getting better (I believe he scored it 98-100). For my first bottle of Auteur I tried the same approach and, like Doug, found that the wine was much more enjoyable and interesting on day 5 than on day 1. This wine was a liquid kaleidoscope with each day a bit different from the preceding. Through it all ran consistent themes of elegance, restraint, and cherries. The only problem is that we don’t normally drink wines in this fashion so I don’t know how many bottles of this we need. Nonetheless, if you enjoy introspective pinots in a “Burgundian” style then you will probably want to seek it out. (91 pts.)

alan - read that same tasting from doug wilder but whenever i open an auteur it doesn’t make it past a few hours - they’re so delicious. looks like it is worth the experience though.
thanks for the note.
