14% alcohol by volume. I believe the grapes for this wine are from Toyon Farm Vineyard, a family-owned vineyard. This has been my favorite Pinot Noir from Ancien in the past. Deep garnet-purple color. Dark fruit on nose and palate. The wine may now be showing some secondary characteristics. I’m getting some earthy and spicy notes, maybe a bit like a Vosne-Romanee, along with plum and plumskin on the palate. Great sipping wine. I also had this the first evening with beef and noodles and the second evening with a baked turkey casserole. I think it would also pair well with most mushroom dishes.
