2007 A Donkey and Goat Chardonnay Brosseau - USA, California, Central Coast, Chalone (10/27/2009)
Appealing golden straw color. Nose of minerals, honeysuckle, citrus and a very light touch of vanilla. Palate of zingy lemon citrus and stones with a slight buttery texture. The verjus component is very well integrated. Very good.

Totally agree, Paul…this is one mighty fine Chard…even though I…sniff/sniff…don’t drink Calif Chard…it’s all overripe/alcoholic/buttery/overoaked crap.
I think Tracey & Jared are making some of the most interesting wines around these days.

Tom,
I don’t think I buy anybody else’s California chard. DAG is very distinctive. Not like other CA chards (see your description). Not Burgundian. Sui generis? BTW, as enjoyable as it is, I prefer their Roussanne and Marsanne-Roussanne to the chardonnay.
Yup…me too. Applies to most other wineries as well. But if you just have to have a Chard…D&G be it.
