This needed several hours in the decanter, but once it opened up it was delicious. Still youthful at age 20, with dark berry fruit, a touch of meatiness, and a eucalyptus note that rode along the top, lifting the profile of the wine. Tannins are still firm, but not harsh. Glad to have had the chance to enjoy this.

Thanks for the note David. Even though these wines seem more approachable in their youth these days, they do age very well indeed.
Now that they are under screw cap they are probably immortal.
I heard a podcast the other day about this label. They had not existed in my consciousness previously so it is funny that you posted a tasting note a few days later. Sounds like a great producer with incredible integrity about their business practices, winemaking, and everything. Seemed like they do not have a great succession plan despite being around quite a long time. Like one of those places where if you figured out it was your favorite wine ever, you should start to hoard, but they are practically non-existent in the US except in single bottles at a 2-3x markup.
