    Full bodied and well balanced. Black cherry and some menthol. Long but drying finish keeps this from rating higher. Perhaps the next one will allow some aging…or perhpas not! (93 pts.)

Picked this wine because I knew the foods at the party would be spicy con queso, pulled porks, and chilis. First glass before any food had the drying finish. Once the food was in the mix this one had the stuffing to match up with the big foods. Will be tough letting these sit.

Had this and the 2006 Rudius Cabernet at lunch yesterday. Both were outstanding, but I gave a slight edge to the Tor.

Do you have much experience with Tor Kenward? I had bought their 05 cabs but was not as impressed with them as I was with their 06. I am trying to decide whether to expect continued good things out of them or whether this was an atypically good effort for them.

I am finding that for most Napa producers the 2006 vintage is much better had young. I wasn’t expecting this based on how Parker described the vintage. If you liked this 06 consider Cru, Drinkward Peschon and Quivet, which are all relatively inexpensive yet delicious young drinking cabs.

Sorry, but can’t help you much. Only started purchasing these as '05s. Only have 3 of the '05s and haven’t touched them at all. Still have 5 of the '06s though [thumbs-up.gif]

Hoping that some of his $50 and less blends are the real performers.

here’s my note on the 05 Clone 6. Outstanding wine.

/17/2011 rated 96 points: The nose leeps from the glass. Dark fruit, cassis and mineral. Hit’s the palate with sweet fruit and a similiar mineral component that is complex and focused. It’s framed with silky tannins and has incredible balance. A wonderful wine drimking very well now
